About the Practice

Products that we have defended include industrial machinery and equipment of all types, printing presses, motor vehicles and trailers, amusement rides, lawn mowers, automobile tires, automobile and truck wheels and rims, glass containers, cranes and ladders. We have also represented manufacturers of trash disposal equipment, gas heaters, electrical wiring and insulation, electrical appliances and equipment, trailer hitches, boats, medical equipment, toxic chemicals and gases, sports equipment and food products.

The firm serves as national products liability counsel to the largest school bus manufacturer in the world, supervising its products liability cases throughout the United States. In that capacity, we have developed techniques for cost effective management of litigation.

With a significant number of attorneys experienced in this area, Smith Gambrell & Russell is staffed and equipped to defend complex products liability claims. At the same time, we are committed to serving the particular needs of each client, regardless of the size or complexity of the case. We have represented clients in products liability suits that required heavy litigation over a period of years in the trial and appellate courts and in matters in which early evaluation, mitigation of damages and effective negotiation of a timely compromise were of paramount importance.

Our attorneys participate in seminars relating to products liability defense and regularly attend educational programs designed to maintain proficiency in this practice area. We have participated as presenters, and otherwise, in programs of the following professional organizations: American College of Trial Attorneys, International Association of Defense Counsel, The Defense Research Institute, American Bar Association and The Georgia Defense Attorneys Association.
