Smith, Gambrell & Russell Welcomes Partner Alex Khoury as Director of E-Discovery

ATLANTA (March 8, 2021) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce the addition of Partner Alex Khoury as Director of e-Discovery at the firm. Mr. Khoury joins SGR from Balch & Bingham LLP where he was a member of the Litigation Practice and chair of the Electronic Discovery and Data Management Practice. He has managed e-Discovery in a wide variety of matters, including product liability, banking, environmental, intellectual property, mass tort, and class action litigation, as well as internal and governmental investigations, including various State Attorneys General and US Attorney’s Offices, the United States Department of Justice, and the Office of Inspector General.

As Director of e-Discovery at SGR, Mr. Khoury leverages his years of experience implementing e-Discovery solutions and data management for complex litigation and investigations to ensure SGR is delivering the most innovative and cost-effective services to our clients. He serves as discovery counsel for businesses and government bodies involved in complex litigation and counsels clients on information governance issues such as data retention, destruction, and privacy.

Mr. Khoury earned his law degree, cum laude, from Mercer University School of Law and his B.S. from Georgia College & State University. He is a member of the Georgia Bar and Alabama Bar and admitted to practice before federal district and appellate courts across the state of Georgia. Additionally, Mr. Khoury is a member of the Association of Certified e-Discovery Specialists, the Sedona Conference Working Group on Electronic Document Retention and Production (WG 1), and Sedona Conference Working Group on Data Security and Privacy Liability (WG 11) and is an adjunct professor of e-Discovery at the University of Alabama School of Law.
