ATLANTA (June 14, 2024) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce the election of Dr. Judy Jarecki-Black and Moritz Masberg to its partnership, effective June 10, 2024.

Dr. Jarecki-Black is a Partner in the Intellectual Property Practice and leads the firm’s biotech and chemical patent team in the Firm’s Atlanta office. She has over twenty years of experience in both private and corporate practice, and previously served as the Global Head of IP for a major life sciences company. In addition to her law degree, she received her undergraduate degree in biology, her Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology & Pathobiology, and an M.D. She was recently named to the “IAM Patent 1000” List of World’s Leading Patent Professionals of 2024.
Mr. Masberg is a Partner in the Corporate Practice in the Firm’s New York office. He represents European clients in corporate and commercial law matters, with a particular focus on setting up U.S. subsidiaries and transatlantic joint ventures. He specializes in assisting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) entering the U.S. market, providing targeted advice to a wide variety of businesses, including those in the automotive, machinery, fashion, food and beverages, logistics, chemical, healthcare, cosmetics, software, and defense industries. In addition to his law degree, he holds a master’s degree in Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law and is admitted to practice law in both New York and Germany.
