The American Lawyer’s Annual Midlevel Associates Survey named Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) “the best law firm to work at” in Atlanta. The October 2004 issue reported survey results from midlevel associates at SGR who applauded the firm for its “interesting and satisfying” work and its attainable billable hour requirement.

The associates who participated examined 12 key areas that contribute to job satisfaction as a whole. The AmLaw survey consisted of a comprehensive examination of what makes a firm the a “best place to work” including benefits and compensation, associate and partner relations, training and guidance, management openness, attitude toward pro bono, expectations on associates, billable hour requirements, level of interesting and satisfying work and the overall workplace rating.

Any firm may participate in the Midlevel Associates survey conducted by American Lawyer magazine. Eligible midlevel associates were third-or fourth-year associates (class of 2000 or 2001). This year’s survey report is based on responses from more than 4,000 midlevel associates at 181 participating firms.
