Oct 15, 2020

There has been a lot of speculation and articles about the future of New York City: the pessimistic “NYC is dead forever – here’s why” by James Altucher and the optimistic, Jerry Seinfeld’s op ed in the New York Times. Please join us as we discuss the current state and future of New York City commercial real estate.

Our distinguished panel includes includes Mark Weiss, Executive Vice Chair at Cushman & Wakefield, leading New York City Tenant Broker and 4 time winner of The Real Estate Board of New York’s Most Ingenious Deal of the Year Award as well as some of SGR’s own NY Office real estate attorneys with vast experience in leasing, coop and condos, litigation and bankruptcy. The wide ranging discussion will cover tenant defaults, negotiations, remedies and potential bankruptcies, what we are seeing in the marketplace and practical approaches to these problems, what’s going on in the courts, good guy guaranties, difficulties coop and condo buildings with commercial tenants are facing and the current state of NYC commercial space and rent.
