Saya Thomas is an associate in the real estate practice in the firm’s Jacksonville, Florida, office.
Ms. Thomas specializes in real estate transactions, with a focus on representing investors, financial institutions, and developers in the acquisition, sale, leasing and financing of medical, retail and multi-family properties. She has extensive experience representing borrowers in securing financing for multi-million-dollar portfolio loans, and has successfully facilitated significant sales of medical properties spanning across multiple states, showcasing an expertise in navigating complex real estate deals. Ms. Thomas routinely handles various aspects of the real estate transaction process, including negotiating purchase and sale agreements, reviewing due diligence, and coordinating closing and post-closing matters.
Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Thomas interned at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and completed a judicial externship with The Honorable Patricia D. Barksdale.
Ms. Thomas, a native Japanese speaker raised in Tokyo, began her academic journey at Sophia University before transferring to Florida International University, where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resources Management. From there, she pursued a dual degree program at the University of Florida, receiving a Master of Science in Real Estate and a Doctor of Law, graduating cum laude. While in law school, she served as forum editor at the Florida Law Review.
