Robert Richard Walling III is an Associate in the Intellectual Property Practice of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP.
Robert’s practice is primarily devoted to intellectual property. His work experience includes patent preparation and prosecution, patent litigation, and due diligence associated with potential mergers and acquisitions. His technological experience includes artificial intelligence, cryptography, content distribution networks, blockchain applications, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), medical devices, avionics, windfarm technologies, and autonomous vehicles.
Prior to joining SGR, Robert worked in-house for a telecommunications equipment company, worked at large law firms, and started a patent consulting firm. Prior to beginning his legal career, Robert worked as a software applications developer, after earning a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology. As part of his patent consulting firm, Robert used his software expertise to design and coordinate with a global team to implement software that helped automate some aspects of the patent drafting process.
