Lillian Grappe Lamphere is an Associate in the Litigation Practice of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP. Ms. Lamphere was an Associate at Freeborn & Peters, which combined with SGR in 2023. Prior to Freeborn, Ms. Lamphere was a Litigation Associate at Phelps Dunbar LLP.
Ms. Lamphere has experience representing publicly traded corporations, local and family businesses, and individuals in complex commercial litigation disputes, including contract disputes, trust and estate disputes, real estate disputes, unfair trade practices, noncompetition, premises liability, insurance coverage litigation, and utilities regulation. In her practice, Ms. Lamphere regularly drafts legal memoranda, pleadings, evidentiary and dispositive motions, and appellate briefs. She additionally refines large-scale discovery, researches complex areas of law, analyzes implications of contractual provisions, manages case files, develops litigation strategy, and participates in trial preparation.
Outside of work, Ms, Lamphere enjoys keeping up with Chicago’s vibrant food scene, sailing a C-Scow with her husband, and spending quality time with her son.
Ms. Lamphere received her B.A., summa cum laude, from Louisiana Tech University, and her J.D., magna cum laude, from Tulane University Law School.
