ATLANTA (January 22, 2019) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce the firm served as legal counsel to Campus Realty Advisors, LLC in its joint venture to acquire four student housing projects located in Washington, Texas, Tennessee, and Georgia. The purchase expands Campus Realty’s student housing operations into a national footprint. SGR also assisted with the acquisition financing obtained through a combination of equity from the joint venture participants, which also includes T2 Capital Management and Realiance International Real Estate Partners.
Serving the Central Washington University community, The Verge at Ellensburg is a 192-apartment unit student housing project located in Ellensburg, Washington. The Verge at Nacogdoches, serving the Stephen F. Austin State University community, has 260 student housing apartment units in Nacogdoches, Texas. Located in Clarksville, Tennessee, The Verge at Clarksville serves the Austin Peay State University community with 208 student apartment units. The Grove at Statesboro, located in Statesboro, Georgia, includes 200 student apartments to serve the Georgia Southern University community.
The joint venture will immediately invest significant additional capital into making improvements to unit interiors and amenities to cater to the needs of today’s students and to boost cash flow.
