Svetlana Zagorina is a Partner in the Private Client Services Practice of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP.
Ms. Zagorina focuses on the areas of estate and tax planning and trust and estate administration. She appreciates both the practicality and complexity of trusts and estates and tax law and how important a role these particular fields of law play in mapping out the financial course of a person’s life. She represents individual and corporate fiduciaries and beneficiaries in various trust and estate administration matters, including complex fiduciary accountings, estate tax returns and fiduciary income tax returns, federal estate tax audits, and estate litigation. Ms. Zagorina also works closely with the firm’s Cooperative and Condominium Practice on transactions involving trusts and estates.
Ms. Zagorina is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey. She is a member of the Trusts & Estates Law Section of the New York State Bar Association, New York City Bar Association Committee on Trusts, Estates and Surrogate’s Courts, and Estate Planning Council of New York City, Inc.
Ms. Zagorina received her B.A. from New York University in 2003, and her J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law in 2008, where she was a member of the St. John’s Law Review. She received her LL.M. in Taxation from New York University in 2012. She is fluent in Russian.
